Currently Canon makes two 100mm macro lenses. As medium zoom macro lenses both the EF100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM and the EF100mm f/2.8 USM are great choices. They both share same excellent image quality and produced sharpest images possible. But the former with its L series build and additional IS system is a better buy for handheld shots.
