The AF DX Fisheye-Nikkor 10.5mm f/2.8G ED is a DX format fish-eye lens that gives a full 180 ˚ perspective from corner to corner. This is what Nikon calls the frame-filling 180° angle of view, which fills the entire frame with a distorted stretched image. This is a unique lens from the Nikkor range of DX and FX format lenses as it is currently the only fish-eye lens for the DX format Nikon DSLRs made by Nikon.

The AF DX Fisheye-Nikkor 10.5mm f/2.8G ED has a very close focusing range of only 1.2” (or 3 cm). This is why Nikon has also provided the Close Range Correction (CRC) technology to keep the final results very sharp irrespective of the focusing distance. In this technology the lenses elements are arranged as a floating elements which allows each of the lens groups to move independently. This allows better focusing precision and better quality images. The lens has a total of 10 elements arranged in 7 groups.

Nikon’s Extra-Low dispersion lens elements reduce the color fringing and suppress chromatic aberrations in the lens. This lens has 1 ED glass elements which pairs with the 1 AS elements. The lens has a bright f/2.8 aperture and stops down all the way to f/22. It has a diaphragm composed of 7 blades.

The specifications of the lens is 2.5×2.5” (diameter x length) and weighs a total of 305 grams. The lens ships with a front cover, a rear cover and a CL-0715 pouch for the lens. Available at Amazon | Adorama | B&H
