Sony E – Mount

In 2010 Sony added the E-mount system. First they were all called “NEX” later renamed to “ILCE” (Interchangeable Lens Camera with E-mount).

E = “Standard E-mount” series for the APS-C.
FE = “Full-frame E-mount” series for 35mm full-frame image format.
G = “Gold” series, Sony’s line-up of high-grade lenses.
LE = “Light edition”, lenses designed to be particularly light.
OSS = “Optical SteadyShot”, lenses with optical image stabilization.
PZ = “Power Zoom”, lenses with motor zoom facility.
ZA = “Zeiss Alpha” Designed and manufactured by Sony in Japan. Designs approved by Carl Zeiss.
