The Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L wide-angle lens is a terrific standard lens for casual photographers and photojournalists who value low-light capability and high performance. The best thing about the EF 35mm f/1.4 L USM is its fast f/1.4 aperture. This makes it perfect for shooting in a broad range of lighting conditions. Being an EF lens it is compatible with all Canon full frame DSLRs along with the 1.3x APS-H and the APS-C crop sensors. If you’re using an EOS-M mirrorless camera you could use an EOS-M adapter to work with this lens. On a 1.6x crop sensor DSLR such as a Canon Rebel T4i the field of view will be the same as a 55mm lens on a full frame such as 5D Mark III. Rear focusing elements means the lens does not extended when focusing, a real advantage when you’re into precision photography using circ. polarizers and filters.
