Cinemartin, the European team that developed the first prototype of a uncompressed low cost portable video recorder some months ago, the SFV, has released a new app tool oriented to cinematographers and video users for transcode / convert / encode videos, to film and broadcast high quality codecs / formats.

Cinec, is a software currently available on Windows (MAC’OS in the horizon) for converting videos from several formats including avi, mpeg, mts, m2ts, m2v, 3gp, mp4, m4a, 3g2, mj2, mov, wmv, etc .. to high quality videos.
Current version include presets for exporting / converting videos to ProRes format, XDCam, Avid DNxHD and H264 among others, color spaces 8, 10 and 12-bit, 4:2:0, 4:2:2 and 4:4:4

It is an application oriented to filmmakers, editors and photographers although its graphical interface makes it simple and easy to use for all other users.
Other features are; cutting and splitting clips instantly, changing the framerate (fps, frames per second) or increase / decrease the speed, time lapse or slow motion, to create interesting motion effects.

Its code & development have been emphatized for users who have dual / quad CPUs and/or SSD drives (solid state drive) . Regarding the process of transcoding / converting , Cinemartin Cinec provides high image quality with high processing capability, allowing the current version using up to 2 CPUs / Cores dedicated to processing, which means less time to convert videos.
Cinec supports resolutions up to 4K, from 480 and 576 SD standards (NTSC and PAL), HD 720p, full HD 1080p, 3840×2060 and 4096×2060 at UHD. Interlaced frames or progressive up to 480 fps.
