The 18-35mm feels and actually does contain a lot more plastic than some of its competitors. But what it lacks in feel and build quality, it makes up in performance and pricing. The AF Zoom-Nikkor 18-35mm f/3.5-4.5D IF-ED is certainly a sharp lens and is a bargain compared to some of the other wide angle zoom lenses offered from Nikon.
