Overview
The 1 NIKKOR VR 30-110mm f/3.8-5.6 (Amazon | Adorama | B&H) is a compact telephoto CX format lens designed for the Nikon 1 series digital cameras. The 30-110mm (81-297mm in 35mm format equivalent) is perfect for bringing subjects at a distance much closer for a clearer picture. From wild life to portrait shots, to landscape and even architecture, this lens is a versatile match for the 1 series Nikon digital camera.
The presence of VR (Vibration Reduction) means the lens is steadier at up to two stops slower shutter speeds when hand holding. Internal Focusing (IF) ensures that the lens barrel does not extend when focusing. This is suitable to keep the overall length of the lens constant and unassuming when shooting candid shots of people and animals. The presence of ED (Extra-low dispersion) elements means the lens has suppressed spherical aberrations, better color saturation and overall sharper. Super Integrated Coating (SIC) also ensures that the ghosting flares are reduced to the minimum.
Maximum aperture of the lens is f/3.8 where as at the narrow end the lens can stop down all the way to f/16. It has a maximum angle of view of 29°40” and a minimum of 8°20”. This small lens has a total of 18 lens elements arranged in 12 groups. The diaphragm is made of 7 rounded blades and the overall weight of the lens is 175 grams. The lens ships with the LC-N40.5 front end snap-on lens cap, the LF-N1000 rear end lens cap and the HB-N103 bayonet lens hood.
