The AF Micro-Nikkor 200mm f/4D IF-ED lens has a really long focal length for a close-up photography lens. This increases the flexibility of the lens manifold. Being a Micro lens, it has a close focusing distance of 10.2” only producing stunning results at a maximum of 1:1 aspect ratio, without the need for any additional tools. The AF Micro-Nikkor 200mm f/4D IF-ED lens has Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass elements which ensures that color fringing is reduced to the minimum.
Nikon’s Internal Focusing (IF) technology ensures that the front end of the lens do not rotate nor does the barrel length alters which is ideal for the use of additional accessories such as a graduated neutral density filter or a circular polarizer.
Extreme close range focusing demands the presence of a technology that can correct focusing issues. Nikon’s Close Range Correction (CRC) technology ensures that this easily achieved and gives the AF Micro-Nikkor 200mm f/4D IF-ED a lot of edge compared to other macro / micro lenses in the market.
The constant f/4 aperture across its focal length also ensures the lens produces a comparable (and thereby steady) performance at any focal length. At the narrow end the lens can stop down to f/32.
