The AF-S Micro NIKKOR 60mm f/2.8G ED lens is the G variant of Nikon’s popular 60mm prime lenses. This lens has superior performance both on a full frame and that of a cropped sensor Nikon DSLR.
The AF-S Micro NIKKOR 60mm f/2.8G ED lens features a continuous auto-focusing mechanism that is ideal for fidgety little bugs and small flowers moving about in the wind. Ideal for close-up photography this lens features a number of advantages like Silent Wave Motor (SWM) for quiet auto-focusing and Nano crystal coating (N) for suppression of flares and ghosting when shooting at extreme close-up range.
Along with that Nikon has provided two aspherical elements (AS) to further reduce spherical aberration. The presence of internal focusing (IF) technology means the lens barrel does not protrude when focusing nor does it rotate, making it easier to dial in the perfect polarizer settings and then readjusting the focus without any loss of effect.
Nikon has also provided ED (Extra-low dispersion) elements, which work together with the Nano crystal costing in the lens, and makes sure that color fringing is reduced. It results in higher color saturation in the final image. Along with that there is also a Super Integrated Coating (SIC) element which ensures that the lens has a better color performance compared to other 60mm prime lenses.
The 9 blade rounded diaphragm has a wide f-stop of f/2.8 and can stop down all the way to f/32. The lens has a 62mm filter thread specification and a weight of 425 grams. Available at Amazon | Adorama | B&H
