The PC-E Micro NIKKOR 45mm f/2.8D ED is lens designed for the purpose of landscape, architecture and the typical requirements of commercial product photography. This lens has tilt, shit and rotational capability which means it is perfect for special perspectives. The lens has revolving capability of around 90 degrees in increments of 30 degrees which throws open a diverse range of shooting possibilities for the pro shooter. The PC-E Micro NIKKOR 45mm f/2.8D ED has a wide shifting range of 11.5mm approx. Additionally it also has a wide tilting range of 8.5mm approx.

Nikon has used its Nano Crystal coated lens elements which drastically reduces the amount of flares and ghosting when shooting in broad daylight using maximum aperture. Nikon’s D3, D700 and D300 DSLRs when used with the lens allow auto-aperture control using the electromagnetic diaphragm control. The diaphragm of the lens is created using 9 rounded blades.

The lens has a wide f/stop of f/2.8. At the narrow end the lens can stop down to f/32. The maximum angle of view in DX format is 34°50′ where as the same on FX format lens is 51°. There are 9 lens elements arranged in 8 groups with a total weight of 740 grams. The lens uses a filter specification of 77mm.

ED (Extra-low dispersion) glass elements allow the lens to suppress color fringing, allowing for better color saturation and more contrast.
