Pentax 645Z
Ricoh has announced the new 51.4 megapixel CMOS sensor medium-format Pentax 645Z Camera. It’s body is sealed with 76 cold-resistant, dust and weather-resistant weather-seals. Other features include an articulated 3.2-inch LCD, top ISO of 204,800, 3 fps continuous shooting, and 1080/60i video. Pentax 645Z also compatible with the Pentax FluCard, offering wireless remote control and image sharing from the camera to a smartphone, tablet or computer. The Pentax 645Z will be available in June for $8499/£6799 (body only). Ricoh also announced the availability of thirteen additional 645 lenses for US Market.

PENTAX 645Z developed on the legacy of the PENTAX 645D and the historic PENTAX 645 film cameras. PENTAX 645Z improvements include an amazing 51.4 megapixels on a high-performance CMOS image sensor to assures super-high-resolution images with a stunningly realistic sense of depth combined with vivid colors and rich shadow detail. Pentax claims the uniquely distinct look of it’s images will clearly differentiate professional photographers to their clients. Addition of CMOS image sensor technology enables live view on a articulated LCD panel. Pentax 645Z is the first camera in medium-format category to offer video recording capabilities to produce lifelike reproductions with tangible depth and incredible dynamic range.
PENTAX 645Z also has three frames per second recording speed with a maximum shutter speed of 1/4000 of a second. The 645Z top ISO of 204,800 to tackle situations with very low light pushes new creative options far beyond the scope of existing medium-format photography.
Additionally, the 645Z is compatible with the recently introduced FLU Card, providing remote operation of the 645Z including the ability to release the shutter, view a live-view, and browse and download the images recorded on the card using a wireless connection to a smartphone, tablet, computer or any web browser enabled device.
645Z’s articulated LCD with a 3.2-inch 1,037,000 dots LCD monitor ensures photographer captures waist-level, high and low-angle images with precision and ease. In addition to an incredibly sturdy magnesium alloy body frame and a diecast aluminum chassis, the PENTAX 645Z also features 76 weather-seals for a cold-resistant, weather-resistant and dustproof shooting experience.
